
Summer camps should mirror children’s multi-talent abilities along with introducing our country’s culture and sports, said Rangayana director Addanda Karyappa.
A 15- day summer camp named ‘Besige Bandi’ was organized by the newly opened ‘Nypunya School of Excellence’ without charging any entry fee in the city by inaugurating a folk procession which started near the Kuvempu statute in Kuvempunagar, till Ramakrishnanagar children travelled in bullock carts wearing dresses from different rural areas to remind the folk Dibanna.
The summer camp activities were be based on our culture and heritage”. To name a few: elephant ride, sledding, nature walks, photography training, village tours to witness rural life, sight-seeing, study of major historical sites, participation in radio programs, desi sports, folklore and much more.
Summer camps in town areas are getting a commercial touch and need to add more hospitality to activities that emphasize programs that promote our culture and tradition.
