Nypunya Dasara Award

Every child is an artist; the problem is staying an artist when you grow up” – Pablo Picasso

These words from Picasso stay true till today. In the rush of life, we often forget to take a moment to enjoy the art that is being created by the imagination of a child.

We at Nypunya, want to encourage the children to embrace their inner art and keep it alive within them throughout their journey of life. In this regard, we organized an inter-school drawing competition for students from LKG to 10th standard at our premises in RT Nagar, Mysuru.

The crowd was full of life on a Sunday morning, children walked hand in hand along with their parents. During the registration process, you could see the enthusiastic children talk about their ideas, they were up with a healthy competitive spirit.

The theme of the competition being : Heritage buildings, Mysuru culture and Dasara, the children had an opportunity to draw the familiar concept filled with their omnific thoughts. The stroke of their brushes brought the soul of Mysore onto the drawing sheets. While one painting had the elephant Arjuna would carry the golden howdah with the Chamundi hills in the backdrop, the other had the elephant amongst the royalty. From KR circle to Clock tower, the prismatic beauty of the city was celebrated. There were drawing sheets with the Mysuru palace painted in its glory, as seen through the eyes of each child.

At the end of the day, the children walked out, with a smile on their faces, reflecting their resolution – To keep the artist in them alive.
